It seems that many of us are living the busy, hurried life championed by our American culture. As a result, we are experiencing a life of exhaustion, anxiety and brokenness spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and relationally. It is important for us to understand that God did not create busyness and hurry – the evil one did because the evil one wants to busy and hurry us to death. Over the next three weeks, we will explore three antidotes to the busy, hurried life that will enable us to take a breath, slow down, enjoy God’s presence, and experience the power of less. These three antidotes are the practices of silence/solitude, sabbath, and simplicity. May we embrace these practices and allow God to free us from a busy, hurried life.
